I stayed at the laquinta inn and suites during FIBO weekend in long island with my girlfriend. It was an overall good stay. The hotel is really nice and was really affordabe with our AAA discount. * was all we paid for a friday and saturday night. So that was good. The layout of the rooms was really nice as well. Very roomy and clean. The fridge and microwave were both concealed very well in the room, and functioned properly, as did the AC. The ice machines on every floor worked, which is very important to me. There are two sets of elevators to accomodate both sides of the hallway.The free breakfast leaves alot to be desired. They need more variety with the cereal choices. But they do have a big enough area to accomodate everyone at the hotel, so it won't seem overcrowded. Also, they don't have a pool, but they do have a heated hot tub that can fit up to 8 ppl comfortably. And believe me, it works!!! However, there were a few things I would change aesthetically. The bathroom is a nice size, but the shower is too small. Also, there are not enough garbage cans in the room for the size we had. But plenty of outlets for those bringing appliances, and the wireless internet service was great! The beds could be a little more comfy, and it looked a tad small to be a king size bed. But all in all, I would deifnitely go back here if I was in this area again.

The lobby was small but impressive. Check-in was uneventful. The room was very accommodating, clean, and well equipped (microwave & refrigerator). I would recommend it and stay again if the situation arises. Breakfast was decent; belgian waffles, cereal, yogurts, bagels...it is self service, even for making the waffles. Still can't complain esp. for the price.

Expensive, but fairly good

For the amount of money we were spending, I would have expected the staff to at least smile. Of the people we encountered, there were NO smiles, absolutely no friendliness or helpfulness whatsoever. The place is very new, so it's attractive and clean. The breakfast offerings were great. The location is convenient. Excellent diner just 1/4 mile away. Room was spacious, great TV, and windows that open. Despite the location on a busy road, it was quiet, too, except for other guests in the hallway, and slamming doors. But, I guess that's just New York style!

This was our second stay at this hotel. Front desk is usually a good indicator of what to expect at a hotel. The hotel was very clean and pleasent but the front desk was like aluminum foil on a tooth filling. Surly, unfriendly, unhelpful and impatient. It was as if they couldn't be bothered. Rooms were clean and comfortable: bed better than most but not too comfortable, it would not be acceptable for a long stay. Great towels. Breakfast, well it is better than just donuts. If your going to have a breakfast, you had better pay much more attention to the coffee issue. It was tough to get to in a crowd, and it seemed like someone was always wating for it to be filled. Selection was adequate. Tableswere seldom cleaned. Like most new hotels now, no place to sit outside and enjoy the day.
