I'm a salesman so I stay at a lot of hotels. This place is old and tired I am actually setting at the edge of the bathtub with my computer on the toilet so my computer will pick up their free internet. It's the kind of place where you do not want to take off your shoes because the carpet is so skanky. Called econlodge customer service she was simply a jerk about it. That finished me ever staying at a choice group hotel again.

This hotel was within 5 miles of the Islip Airport. My first impression was the hotel was older and not very fancy at all. However, it appeared the room had been refirbished so it was actually okay. The bathroom was clean and provided shampoo, conditioner, lotion, soap, and hair dryer. The bed was good and firm without being like a rock. The people at the front desk were helpful and even looked something up on the internet for us because the computer in the lobby was occupied. There was no exercise room so I had to go for a walk around the community which turned out to be pleasant enough. The room had a bit of a moldy smell that improved with the use of the air conditioner (which didn't really cool very well- thank goodness it was October!). My friend had problems with her allergies, however, so we left the hotel a day early.

May sound petty, but I do a lot of travelling. This place was pretty clean and the employees very nice. My two complaints are....The TV had no sound on most of the stations. I called the desk and was told it was all over the hotel. It was a rainy night. We were there for a funeral the next day. Would have been nice to chill out with TV. The stations that had sound were the cartoons, home shopiing, some sports news.
When checking out the next morning i told the desk about it. They were "mystified" about the reason, and told me they would have changed my room. It was never offered to me. I was told all the TV's were like that.
The second thing was a toilet that kept stopping up.
Seems a bit expensive for this hotel.
O.k. place to stay, but check on the TV set sound if you are planning chill time. -

My BF and I stayed here last weekend on business. The bad was over used and there were little hair balls on it, strands of hair were found on the sheet and the hot boiler broke the next day and I couldn't take a shower. when we complained, this staff member was really nasty. Of course we complained.
